PETALING JAYA: Budget airline AirAsia Bhd is increasing the total number of destinations to the greater China region to 13 by year-end from the current seven.</p>
<p>It currently flies to Guangzhou, Guilin, Haikou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen in China and, the Special Adminstrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao.</p>
<p>AirAsia chief executive officer Datuk Tony Fernandes said at a media briefing Monday that the airline’s new destinations are Tianjin, Chengdu, Chongqing and Xian in China and Taipei and Kaoshiung in Taiwan.</p>
<p>He also said the airline was aiming to increase the total number of passengers on the Malaysia &#8211; China routes to 1.5 million.</p>
