I was a passenger on board the above flight on 08 March 2010 (Seat 23A) and when I took my seat was absolutely disgusted to find an air sickness bag wedged between my seat and plane’s fuselage filled with vomit. The passengers in seats 23B & C can confirm this as I had to pass it over them when handing the bag to the flight attendant.

Air Asia is continually trumpeting, congratulating itself for some award it won in 2009, as if it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Considering what I found next to my seat, I don’t imagine the award has anything to do with hygeine/cleanliness.

If Air Asia wasn’t so up itself I would let this matter pass but because it is so annoyingly proud of itself I’m considering relating my encounter with the disgusting bag of vomit to the media so perhaps Air Asia won’t win any more awards in the near future and I won’t have to put up with its annoying bragging.

Hi Tony Fernandez from New Zealand. I understand you have just started fights into Christchurch New Zealand and would like you to please consider also flying to Gisborne New Zealand.
Gisborne is the very first city in the world to see the sun rise every day. Also Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the new year. Gisborne is where the movie ‘Whale Rider’ was filmed and there is fantastic scenery and kilometers of white sandy beaches.

The climate is just perfect. Have you ever thought of having honeymoon flights to Gisborne where couples can get married on the white sandy beaches of Gisborne. Gisborne is the only place in the world where you can get married on your own beach with no one else around… Yes! That is correct you can walk along a Gisborne beach and be the only one there.

AirAsia could be the very first airline in the world to offer ‘Honeymoon’ flights to Gisborne New Zealand, Please consider how wonderful this would be, a beautiful place where the lovers can relax on their own with the whole beach to themselves.
Gisborne also has top class hotels and accommodation and you can even have an old steam train ride… fantastic. Gisborne is not a big city and is just perfect for honeymooners and those wishing a nice relaxed vacation away from all the hustle and bustle of big city life. We are not! New York.

I believe this would be a marvelous marketing opportunity for AirAsia, and get in first on the very lucrative honeymoon market to Gisborne New Zealand.

Please contact me for any more information and to answer any questions you may have, as I can arrange access for your flights into Gisborne Airport.

“Gizzy is your Sanctuary. As far away from New York as you can get, Gizzy is your sanity from the insanity of the hustle and bustle.”

Gisborne New Zealand would love to have you.

Regards

To whom it may concerned,

Referring to the above, on Sunday, 19 April 2009, my family and I board the Sky bus, plate number BDJ 1379 from LCCT Terminal at 4.45pm to KL Sentral Terminal. The ticket was bought online together with my air ticket (booking number = O1E8BV).

Prior boarding the bus, we all placed our bags in the luggage compartment in the bus, we have 5 (five) bags alltogether; 4 on the top portion as it is a medium sized, and 1 on the floor of the left luggage compartment of the bus, for large luggage. All was placed next to each other, me and my brother personally placed the luggage into the compartment.

Upon arriving at KL Sentral terminal at approximately 5.45pm, those who have their luggages kept at the luggage compartment collected theirs including my own family. Everyone got their’s but I couldn’t find mine. The driver was helpful enough to open the right hand side of the compartment luggage in case it has dropped on the other side but still we couldn’t find my luggage.

For your information, my luggage is a blue and black Deuter backpack sized 22 Litres. It has a orange and a red ribbon tied on it, and also two carabiners hanged on the bag, pink and green in colour. It weigh approximately 5 to 7 kg.

Me and my family members walked around KL Sentral terminal to look for it, while my mom (Pn Aishah) went to the Skybus company to lodge a report for missing luggage. She talked to Mr Nanda Kumar, whom he claimed as a Skybus supervisor at KL Sentral Terminal. He then called someone (we did not manage to get the name of person he spoke to) at LCCT Skybus terminal and checked if there is a luggage as described above. As suspected, no such bag there. Mr Nanda then gave his number for reference purpose (012-6151202).

I then lodge a police report at Pondok Polis Brickfields at 1st floor of KL Sentral Station at 6.25pm with officer Aziz and Fakrul (Report No. BF RPT: 5671/09).

I’ve also spoken to Mr Shamala at the Skybus company at this number 016-217 6950 yesterday (Monday, 20 April 2009) at 12.31pm.

Please advice.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Sharifah Asma

I have traveled frequently with AirAsia. I even convince my travel buddies to travel with AirAsia, My travel experience with AirAsia was good but not on 19 April, home bound from Phuket. My daughter’s backpack was lost upon arrival at KL Sentral. (refer to email below) which carrys my birthday presents from my children.

My mind is disturpted each time I think of the experience we had in KLSentral. How can the AirAsia’s Sky Bus handle the passenger luggage so carelessly. While we were looking for the lost luggage, I have noticed that anyone can walk off with any bag he/she fancy without being questioned by the bus terminal assistance. Because they were nobody for assistant once the bus compartment opened. We got down last from the bus as our seats were at last row in the bus.

For your information. I will travel again tomorrow with my friends to Guilin and I hope the image I have for AirAsia will stays despite this matter. And regards to this matter, I am looking forward to have the explaination from AirAsia (M) Sdn Bhd and thier associates company Sky-Bus.

Warm regards,

As a person who needs to transit at Denpasar to go on to my place of work, I welcomed AirAsia and have already subscribed to their services no fewer than 20 times. Letters regarding AirAsia’s service, or more accurately the lack of it, have appeared in alarmingly volume in malaysiakini. Yet as far as I can see, no effort has been made by AirAsia to respond to these letters.

As a frequent customer, let me recount a recent episode I was involved with. I turned up just a few minutes late for check-in at the airport. I patiently waited in the queue at KLIA where the AirAsia counter says ‘Indonesian Flights’.

There were many passengers also in the queue, the majority of whom were maids with a lot of luggage. Check in was therefore understandably slow. Without any notice or announcement, there was no way I could have known whether or not I could be accepted for my flight since the very long queue was formed by passengers checking in for three different destinations.

I reached the counter after an extended wait and only then was told that check-in for my flight was closed exactly forty-five minutes before the published departure time. In answer to my queries, I was firmly told I came late and therefore AirAsia would not put me on the next available flight nor refund me any portion of the fare I had paid.

This despite the fact that I had no check-in luggage and I could have easily walked to the departure gate well before the published time of departure. As I had to look for alternative flights to proceed to my destination, I stayed on in the airport for some time. It was then that I heard over the public address system the last call for passengers for the AirAsia flight I had paid for.

And what was the time of that announcement? Well past the published time of departure of that said flight.

Being a ‘warga emas’ (senior citizen), I understand and appreciate that there must be rules and regulations in any organised activity. But these rules must apply to both sides of a business transaction. Air Asia tolerates no nonsense from its customers. The rules are published and if you as a passenger are unable to satisfy any part of the published rules, you will not be accepted for a flight nor will you get back any of your money. Fair enough.

However, AirAsia, it seems, does not need to subscribe to any responsibility to punctuality. When its flights depart late no matter by how many minutes or hours, all it takes is for the AirAsia pilot or stewardess to just say sorry before take off. From AirAsia’s point of view, its own flight delays can be excused.

What Air Asia is saying is: ‘Our planes can be late even by hours but you passengers cannot be late by even a few minutes’.

As a common man, I too subscribe to the maxim of ‘Now everyone can fly’. I have stood always for the common people. I have cheered all who strive to improve the lot of common people. I have applauded the introduction of discount airlines and have happily subscribed to the services of airlines such as Ryan Air and Easy Jet.

I do not subscribe to the saying ‘cheap things no good, good things not cheap’. There is a need for affordable services and products in the various business sectors. But all businesses must subscribe to the basic rule that clients and customers have basic rights. Businesses infringe on these rights to their own peril.

To Air Asia, I say, yes ‘now everyone can fly’ but I won’t be flying with you again. Goodbye.
