Yokoso Japan – Welcome to Japan

Japan Rail Pass

Yokoso Japan means Welcome to Japan ! that’s what has been posted in AirAsia Blog by the AirAsia X CEO, Azran who just return from Tokyo upon discussion with the japan government and airport authority on the possibility of Airasia to fly Tokyo. Eventhough this is just at initial stage but I hope this can be a reality in near future.

Talking about Japan, I have been to Tokyo/Osaka for 8 days trip in Mid December 2009.  For me Japan is such a wonderful place to visit ! If you have been to other places like London, Gold Coast, Tokyo is another places that you shouldn’t missed. Just like Azran said, many people think that Tokyo is a very expensive place especially for people from Malaysia etc, but the real fact is there are plenty budget hotel even in Central Tokyo.

Of course without a budget airlines, you have to spend a lot just for the air fare. Luckily I managed to grab Balik Kampung offer from Japan Airlines which only cost me RM1,550 for return tickets. Other airlines like Thai Airways (RM2,300), MAS (RM2,400 – RM3,200).

Knowing AirAsia strategy, if they were to fly to Japan the fare  will be much lower.

Air Asia to Tiruchirapalli

PETALING JAYA: Good news for those who travel often to Tiruchirapalli as low-cost carrier AirAsia will be adding a second daily flight to the Indian district starting Sept 1.

To celebrate the introduction of the flight, AirAsia will be offering an all-in fare of RM129.00 for a travel period between Sept 1 this year and April 30 next year. The booking period for the flight will be from Tuesday to Aug 2.

AirAsia Group commercial regional head Kathleen Tan said the airline was proud to be servicing an underserved route and opening up this market to the world. “Tiruchirapalli is a highly popular and desired destination among Hindus in Malaysia as it has an abundance of temples, which are popular pilgrimage sites for Hindus,” she said in a statement on Monday. She added that there was an increase in visiting travellers from the district in Tamil Nadu who were progressively using Kuala Lumpur as a connecting gateway to over 130 routes in South East Asia and beyond. “In fact, within the first month of flying to India, we enjoyed a load factor of 100% on this route,” Tan said, adding that it was now timely to add a second frequency.

Tiruchirapalli was AirAsia’s first destination in India since its inception on Dec 1 last year. AirAsia is also offering its guests free rooms in various destinations when they book at its partner hotels via goholiday.airasia.com.
